Gym is okay compared the others i have been to back home in Rochester. But let me tell you. The women, not so much the men I've noticed, are complete and utter bitches that work here. Like you all need to check your attitudes because it's annoying. Also there is fruit flies in the shower, gross...?
Two days ago I saw they charged my again. I went there again and ask for refund. The manager was there and she told me there is no note that I've been there and there are no refunds.
I went to the Amherst location with a guest pass to check out the place. I had never used the equipment that they have here and was anxious to try it. I was not in a position to sign-up, as I really wanted to spend a couple of hours and get the feel of the gym. I was shown the door, very strange....
So I arrived to the gym and the manager wasn't there, so the secretary wrote down the details and said that the manager will cancel it on the next day.
Worst customer service I've ever seen. Few month ago I've register to LA Fitness with my daughter. Since I didn't use the membership I've asked to cancel the membership over a month ago, they told my I need to cancel it in person.
Aside from the strange staff, this place is incredible. The facility is well maintained and super clean; equipment is also well maintained and promptly repaired at the first signs of damage. Pool is clean and almost always empty; showers are decent and the locker rooms are clean and do not smell. Well done.
Not enough classes. Apathetic staff and management. Paper towels are often overflowing in the locker room and bathroom. Ten or more water and Gatorade bottles and paper towels all along the basketball court and only one person was in there. Weights and bars laying all over the workout floor. This was continuous over a couple of years. They had one exceptional janitor but CUT his hours. Now he has quit.
